Dr. Aiyer is a Double Board-Certified Psychiatrist and Founder of Mind and Brain Link.
He started his academic path by completing a 4 Year BSc. Honors Degree in Life Sciences at the prestigious Queen’s University in Canada. He then received his Medical Doctorate degree at one of the top medical schools in the United Kingdom, University of Birmingham in England. He then went on to complete his Psychiatry residency at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health at Staten Island University Hospital in New York City. He then completed his Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College.
He is committed to staying current with the latest research, proven by his numerous publications (over 60 publications and 10 book chapters) and is a member of editorial boards for several prestigious journals. He has been involved and co-authored several international guidelines, as well as being a principal investigator and leader for clinical trials and research studies, that have been published in high impact journals. He is currently involved in ongoing research studies. In addition, he has delivered several oral presentations and abstracts at international conferences.
Dr. Aiyer is a member of many societies in Psychiatry, and holds appointments on various committees, including the Education Committee for the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) and the Leadership Council for American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN). With my extensive research background, I tailor each visit with an evidenced based treatment plan that ensures the highest chance of success in attaining your mental health goals, through a comprehensive approach that integrates both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. With each evaluation, I prioritize listening to your mental health needs and value a patient centered approach with your treatment plan.
Through active listening and communication, I implement shared decision making on all clinical recommendations at each visit, and provide psychoeducation to ensure you are fully engaged with your treatments. I encourage all patients to be actively involved with the decision making to ensure that you feel your mental health needs are heard.
